Carols and Lights

Well done to the Bagshot Business Association for organising the Carols and Christmas Lights.  Thanks to the Village Cafe, The Co-operative, Hardys and The Three Mariners for providing hot chocolate, mulled wine and mince pies.  Thanks also to Rev David Chillman and Chris Conry and Robin Coe (elders at the Brook Church) for leading the carol singing.  A special mention goes to Nick Dorrrington and John Bauld for putting up the trees and lights.

Lance Halkett Studios

lance_halkettWe asked Lance Halkett to introduce himself, tell us about his new studio and to tell us why he loves Bagshot:

"From an early age, I was intrigued by my father's photography. He spent hours practicing with his equipment and showing me what everything was. Of course, back in those days, photography required a very different skill set to now. I enjoyed seeing how he managed the development process. When I got my first camera, I would set up photo shoots with my family and friends and get them doing poses. Time went on and after working in IT for some time, I realised I could only be truly happy in life if i was focusing on my passion, photography.

Wednesday Business Club

wednesdayAre you a budding or actual millionaire?  Maybe you're just in need of little bit of inspiration, some marketing contacts, or just an informal chat with some fellow entrepreneurs.  For the past few years a little known group has met by the fireside in Three Mariners, every month - the first Wednesday in fact.  The format is simple, the group just rotate around, each person telling the group what they're up to, any business challenges or opportunities they face, seek some feedback.  It's really friendly, everyone pitches in and gives a bit of advice or guidance and it's kept going for all this time because pretty much everyone who turns up goes away with something useful.

Over the years the group has had everything from university students looking for an idea, website developers offering their skills to seasoned business movers and shakers, looking to sell a business and go off to live the easy life.  If you want to turn up, all are welcome and it all kicks off at 8PM the first Wednesday of every month.  Just head for the fire and ask for Steve.
